Started working on a new sculpture, FINALLY. Spent too many hours making a luge for a sledding/wedding party for my son and his beautiful new bride. Boy am I in good shape after moving tons of snow.
Anyhow I'm making a sculpture of a Phalaenopsis Multiflora plant. I will include these flowers plus a dead blossom, a few buds and kieki (like a spider plant starter). The plant in its natural habitat will hang from anything below the top forest canopy, not at all like the ones you see potted and held with sticks. I'm thinking of replicating this by making the sculpture a wall hanger or from a piece of swamp tree(steel)/floor stand.
