Inspiration

I was working outside on my car, when from just above came a Raven's raspy "hello". I always hear their wings, but he silently came over, spoke and was gone. The wind gushed and I knew how he did this trick. The Raven is a master of the wind.I found a Raven feather at my feet.

I just had to come in and tell my wife Sue. She reacted calmly, (she teaches junior high).

I went back out side and through an opening , just above the blowing trees he flew in plain view, cawed something at me,then turned and disappeared. I cawed back speaking jibberish Raven, but I'm confident he sensed I was happy to share such a beautiful fall day with him.

Brown Orchid of Egypt

This is the Brown Orchid of Egypt.I saw the word Egypt on one of the rebar sepals, so it became part of the name. The shape came from my soul. I must make more orchids and color them.

Sunflower

A friend asked me to make her a sunflower, so today I made one. The center of the flower is part of an old lawn mower motor. I knew I would find a use for something from that thing.

Brown Re(rod)cluse

A tiny spider built a dome shaped web in one of my tetrahedron stands. It was precisely in the center of the stand. I was fascinated with his web. I made a rendition of this tiny creature out of re-rod. It looks very much like him but instead of 1/4" , he is two feet long. A friend saw this sculpture and named it Brown Re(rod)cluse. The name stuck.
