The day was picture perfect with warm air and some nice cloud cover. I brought a little art project for the guest from Bay Cliff Camp. It was a flat, leaf shaped piece of copper with a stem of copper wire soldered on with lead free solder. I provided a carved out stump and a urethane hammer. If the child couldn't hold a hammer, a friend from camp helped. They absolutely loved it! One guest, Zues had a special chair that had a custom hand control. Zeus, his assistant Ben and I chatted for quite a while. When Zeus left, he needed to navigate between my metal display and a Harley with a VERY expensive paint job. Zeus had only inches to clear. There was lots of nail biting, but in the end Zeus went cleanly through. Zeus was amazing.

Little Lake Skull
Its that time of the year when the Harley Owners Group has their annual Little Lake Ride In event where all proceeds they make go to Bay Cliff Camp for disabled children. This year I made a new sculpture to donate for the raffle. It's a deliciously wicked skull wall hanger made with 3/8" mild steel rod.The skull is around 14" high and 10" wide. The metal is finished with a rough ground surface then wire brushed. I coated the raw steel with some clear enamel. I made three copies for purchase. In addition I made a ghetto version using 1/2" mild steel rod. The ghetto skull is 24' high and around twice as heavy. I'll be at the event Saturday July 19. I know it'll be a good time.
