Singing Fingers
Around ten years ago,I cut down a wild White Spruce. You could hear the wasps in it from 200 feet easy, and it was next to our garden. From a piece of the inverted Spruce trunk, I chainsawed a sculpture of a head. Then I placed this head in the woods to season. Two years ago, I brought it out of the woods, and stored it inside.Tonight,I joined this head with a six fingered base made from 5/8" re-rod.If you pick "Singing Fingers" up and tap the top of the head, the six fingers of the base ring; but strangely, the wooden head rings. I was surprised by how efficient the acoustical coupling was between the wood and steel. When you hold "Singing Fingers" and tap a base finger,it makes a (wooden) bongo kind of sound and the head rings, just like the fingers.I think I know why the wasps chose this tree. This sculpture taught me many things, and I'm excited about applying my newfound inspirations. There is a clear sky tonight, and the stars need some look'n at......

Mori
Mori is a winged skull sculpture made from mild steel. The winged skull has been used as a symbol for over a thousand years. It can symbolize change, the rising of the soul to heaven,Christ's resurrection, and of course death. The phrase memento mori , latin for remember death, can be seen with winged skulls especially on grave stones.

Sees With Wings
Sees With Wings was inspired by a story of a near drowning in white water. The man looked up while drowning and saw a Blue Jay in a tree above the rapids. He then saw himself through the bird's eyes. Shortly thereafter, he was lifted from the water by an unknown source and placed safely on a rock. The sculpture was a gift, and now resides with the teller of this wonderful adventure.
Cowechan Warrior
Cowechan Warrior was created based on inspiration viewing pictures of Northwestern American Natives. A simple "brush-stroke" of metal shaping was the emphasis with this wall hanging sculpture. This sculpture resides in a collection of masks from around the world. The finish is brushed mild steel with no preservative measures.
The Accuser of Brethren
The Accuser of brethren was recently completed. The sculpture does not represent Satan, but the dark side of human nature. We think... we say... we do... we act... we are... then we blame someone else. The sculpture was made using .032" mild steel sheet , 1/4" round mild steel, and copper sheet. After shaping the steel sheet, it was MIG welded together. Accuser of Brethren is presently being shown at the Alger Heritage Center in Munising, Michigan
